Progressions is an AUv3 MIDI plugin created for integration with your preferred DAW software. It introduces a novel approach to chord generation, departing from traditional scales to prevent predictability and monotony over time. Instead of relying on conventional scales, Progressions utilizes a distinctive mathematical method for creating a sequence of interrelated chords through a single root note and mode (major or minor). The plugin's chord progressions are tailored by the selected complexity and freedom levels, reminiscent of the practices employed by classical composers who would venture away from tonality and return.

The complexity levels commence at the Basic stage, featuring commonly used chords such as I, IV, V, as well as relative minor ii, iii, and vi triads. Progressing through the levels offers the inclusion of parallel majors and minors, sus and dom chords, alongside the introduction of 6th, 7th, 9th, 11th, 13th chords, Quartals, and their various alterations.

The freedom level function enables users to determine the degree to which they deviate from tonality – even facilitating the creation of endlessly diverse soundscapes.

Progressions streamlines the process of generating a plethora of chords that can be played in different modes (block chords, arpeggiated, or strummed) and then synchronized with the hosting application. The chords can be triggered remotely or pieced together seamlessly to form a complete composition.

In Song Mode, users have the flexibility to switch play modes instantaneously while exercising real-time control over multiple features of the application.

Noteworthy features include support for open and closed chords with customizable voicings, an intelligent algorithm that optimizes chord structure alignment by adding extra bass notes and open chord padding for chords with three notes only. The plugin even accommodates rootless voicings.

Moreover, Progressions offers a Humanize function that allows users to regulate chord and note timings while incorporating velocity variations to prevent mechanical rigidity.

Additionally, the plugin incorporates an integrated arpeggiator and strumming pattern editor capable of accommodating up to six arpeggio and strum patterns simultaneously – enabling effortless manual switching between them or via remote control or Song Mode.

For users running multiple instances, Progressions facilitates synchronization of chord pads, song chains, arpeggiator/strum patterns across all instances.

Progressions can be deployed either as a MIDI plugin or an Instrument for software that does not support MIDI plugins like GarageBand. When utilized as an instrument, users can leverage internal sounds (soundfonts) or route MIDI directly to other MIDI instruments.
